PlayStation Now drops PS3 and Vita support soon

Sony has announced some bad news for PlayStation Now users: six months from now, the service will be limited to only PS4 and PC. Meaning if you’re using the game streaming service on the PS3 or Vita, you’re out of luck.

And it’s not just PS3 and Vita players that are left out in the cold: PlayStation TV (that micro-console Sony once made) and Smart TV support will end as well.

The only way to use PlayStation Now will be via a PS4 or PC.

Sony officially cuts off support on PS3, Vita, PS TV and Smart TVs on August 15th, 2017.

Well that was pretty short lived. I never really used the service but a lot of people i know did.

  • I’m glad I never sold my ps3, this sucks for the people that paid for the service.

i actually don’t know anyone that actively uses this service. When I tell people it has PC support though, they always say “Wait what?”.

Is this site dead? It’s been 9 days since last article. It’s not like there’s not a ton to post about, especially with Horizon: Zero Dawn 3 days away.

This site promoted the GameFans app for quite some time before it released, they had to know it would cut their user base. They must be under the same umbrella

So that means Sony is cutting costs and saving money, right? Maybe after this, they can drop plus back down to $50 or even $40 AND stop applying a tax to an internet based service (wishful thinking). $65 after tax for plus is ridiculous, especially when Sony keeps dropping services

Those people who buy TVs will be disappointed. I saw a TV in Walmart last week that advertised PlayStation Now compatibility.
