PS4 sales surpass 4 million in Japan

The PS4 has crossed the four million consoles sold mark in Japan, according to sales tracker Media Create. Sony sold over 90,000 regular PS4 consoles and over 10,000 PS4 Pro units during Christmas week — the biggest weekly sales since the console launched in February 2014.

Worldwide, PS4 sales are officially still at 50 million, but Sony will update that number in their next quarterly earnings report, which is scheduled to be released next month.

That report will also reveal how well the PS4 did this Holiday season, which could be its strongest ever.
