Leaked slides reveal tons of info and specs about PS4 Neo

Newly leaked presentation slides reveal a ton of information about the upcoming PS4 Neo console, including its specs and how Sony plans for it to support 4K gaming.

The slides were supposedly from a presentation that Sony made to developers regarding the PS4 Neo. They confirm the rumored specs: a CPU that’s slightly more powerful (1.3x faster) and a GPU that’s more than twice as powerful. Furthermore, the RAM will also run at a faster speed, up to 25% faster.

It’s also confirmed that when games run in “Neo mode”, with better visuals and/or in 4K, they have access to an extra 512 MB of memory, for a total of 5.5 GB.

Check out the slides below, where Sony also gives developers some tips on how to achieve 4K resolution for PS4 games.

This is basically the same thing they did with the PS2 Slim.
Only minor improvements to the performance.

Minor maybe but essential to some. 4K support is or will be a must.

If they can find him. Those are PPT slide not sure they put any security on those in order to know to whom they have been given. And it could also be a voluntary leek after all those rumors saying the neo wont be out this year.

I was happy with my ps4… until i got BLOD on my console.. its only 8 months old… so sad Sony, so sad..

    • Whats BLOD? is it B.L.O.D. (whatever that means)? is it BLOOD (whatever you’re tryin to say with that) or is it BOLD (which wouldn’t make too much sense either).
Whatever it means, if you were happy with your PS4, you might stay happy for quite some time.

Blue light of death i think. Must be some sort pf boot loop or something.

  • Bought my 1TB PS4 half a year ago for 300 bucks and still love it. So if there’s coming an upgraded one for 4K TVs (which I don’t plan to buy for quite a long time) I really don’t care too much. If Sony starts releasing exclusive games for NEO, it might become something different, but I got the feeling that it’s gonna take quite a while to that point.
On the other hand, if I had a NEO, I wouldn’t like the idea that there won’t be coming a game that would take full advantage of that hardware. Then again, compared to a real genertion-leap, the difference might really be very small so in the end, it might really just be about switching the slider from ‘normal’ to ‘high’.
So yeah, for me it kinda seems as if Sony manages to walk the line between keeping PS4 owners chilled while delivering to ppl who always need the newest tech. And as long as they ain’t announcing Last of Us 2 exclusively for Neo, it’s gonna stay that way 😉
