Rumors began circulating earlier this week that the resolution war between the PS4 and Xbox One would continue with Thief being better on PS4. Today, Square Enix has confirmed this to be the case.
According to the developer, Thief will run at 1080p on PS4 while the Xbox One version will be 900p. Both games will be limited to 30 fps.
Nicolas Cantin, the game’s director, was quick to dismiss the difference between the two versions, stating that you’ll need “good eyes” to notice the difference between the two. Cantin went on to say that despite the lower resolution, the Xbox One version of Thief is just as good as the PlayStation 4 version.
Thief joins the increasing list of games that run at a higher resolution on Sony’s PlayStation 4. Earlier this week, we learned that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes outputs at a native 1080p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One.
