Yesterday on Twitter, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima began reminiscing about the various PlayStation and handheld bundles he worked with Sony in order to create unique consoles for fans of the series. Of course everyone remembers the Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 bundle. Numerous people have asked Kojima if there are plans to have a console bundle in addition to the special edition bundle that you see above, but he’s been pretty quiet on the subject, until last night.
After his look through history, Kojima then sent the following tweet in Japanese:
— 小島秀夫 (@Kojima_Hideo) February 14, 2014
Translated, the tweet reads:
“[SONY] × [PS4] × [MGS GZ] collaboration initiative is in progress. More information at a later date.”
It sounds like Kojima has plans to talk to Sony about the possibility of a special edition PS4 release featuring Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. If that’s not the case, perhaps we’ll see a full special edition console with Phantom Pain, when it’s ready. What do you think? If you haven’t gotten your hands on a PlayStation 4 just yet, would you hold off and wait for a MGS special edition PlayStation 4? Let us know!
