New PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset leaked

Gold Stereo Headset profile

Play-Asia and Best Buy has leaked what we believe is the successor to Sony’s PULSE lineup of headsets. Entitled the Gold Wireless Stereo Headset, this device will be compatible across PS3, PS Vita, and the newly release PS4. Like it’s predecessor, the PULSE Elite headset, the Gold Stereo Headset will include a 3.5mm headphone jack for PS Vita support along with other devices that have a 3.5mm input.

The headset’s design is certainly a departure from its predecessor. Sporting a sleek frame, it appears to combine a slimmed body of the original PULSE (then called Stereo) headset, along with a comfy-looking set of earphones. Sadly, the device doesn’t actually have any visible signs of gold on it.

On PS3 and PS4, the headset will support Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound audio. Support for the Headset Companion App also appears to be available or at least coming in a future update. Additionally, you’ll be able to swap out the faceplates to customize the look of the device.

Play-Asia states that the peripheral will be available later this month and compatible with the PlayStation 4 following Firmware update 1.6. According to Play-Asia, the headset will retail for $129.99 which is $20 cheaper than the original price of the PULSE Elite headset.
