Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 controller, also known as DualShock 4, will be available in two additional colors in Europe and North America on launch day: in blue, called “Wave Blue”, and red, called “Magma Red”. The controller will retail for $59 — same price as the regular DualShock 4. And just like the regular DualShock 4, the red and blue versions will retain the “light bar”, which is used by the PS Eye camera.
We’re not sure why Sony picked these colors, as they look very washed out. Maybe their focus groups told them the colors would appeal to more consumers. Honestly, we would have loved a white PlayStation 4 controller. Or something that stands out and doesn’t make it look like cheap plastic. What do you think of the new colors?
