New Knack PlayStation 4 details

Knack was the very first PlayStation 4 game to be showcased, back in February during the PlayStation 4 unveiling. Sony’s Mark Cerny, who’s also the lead architect on the PS4 console, is developing Knack as a fun adventure game.

In the latest issue of GameInformer magazine, which has a huge, 30-page PlayStation 4 special, some new Knack details have emerged.

“Knack”, the main character, was created by a scientist with tons of little crystals, and can change his shape and abilities. As the player progresses, more and more crystals are added and Knack grows larger and has more abilities. Knack can feature up to 5,000 of these crystals.

The gampeplay in Knack is a mix of melee fighting and 3D platforming, and the visuals are very casual and cartoony. Knack is a PlayStation 4 launch title, and will be available when the console launches this Fall.

We hope to see more of Knack at E3 this year, where Sony’s big PlayStation 4 E3 press conference kicks off on June 10.

This looks like a Pixar movie. Before Pixar went to crap, of course.

Yeah Brave and Cars 2 were terrible movies. I feel sorry for kids.

In all seriousness, this looks like another good first party game for the PS4.

How are these visuals “very casual”? Is casual supposed to mean not very robust or for little kids or for both?

Because these graphics look amazing to me, the style is extremely enticing and the whole point is to show off the PS4 being able to process all those little knack pieces. It’s genius

People will call any game casual. They could say Uncharted has casual missons, or Final Fantasy is to casual for a JRPG. Its a world of opinions.
