Sony recently announced Gran Turismo 6 for the PS3. And according to Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, the developers have a PlayStation 4 version “in mind”.
Yamauchi was interviewed during Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary event held at the Silverstone circuit in England, where he said:
“We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.”
He added that the focus right now is to get the PS3 version out this Fall, then focus on DLC and other content. He said that the PlayStation 4 version should “come out naturally” after the PS3 version has been on the market.
Gran Turismo 6 was announced a few days ago, with 1,200 cars available at release — 200 hundred more than GT5. The game will feature all the cars and tracks from GT5, with 19 new tracks added in Gran Turismo 6.
Until then, we can enjoy the PlayStation 4 racing game DriveClub, which will be a launch title this Fall. We might also get Project CARS on the PlayStation 4 if the developer succeeds in getting additional funding.
