Back in February, Sony revealed a lot of information about the PlayStation 4 console. They revealed many of the specs, the new controller, a ton of PlayStation 4 games, and almost all of the new online and social features. But they didn’t reveal the actual console itself. We still don’t know what the PlayStation 4 looks like.
Sony CEO Kaz Hirai offered his thoughts on why we didn’t get to see the console. For one, he says that the look of console is still not completely finished. That much we expected. But Hirai also adds:
“We just talked about the console and there will be more information to come, but it keeps people guessing and that’s a good thing.”
Which means that Sony is practically following in Apple’s footsteps with the decision not to show us what the console looks like. This gives them the opportunity to milk the hype around the console as long as possible. But it won’t be too long — everyone expects Sony to reveal everything at E3 in June.
