Enlighten game software coming to PS4

Enlighten PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4’s PC based hardware means it will be a lot easier to make games for the system. And it also means that game tool makers will have a much easier time bringing their tools to the PS4. Game engines, physics toolkits, etc. will be much easier to implement on the PlayStation 4 than they were on the PS3, which is always a great thing for developers.

Geometrics, a company that creates the highly popular Enlighten lighting technology used in games such as Battlefield 3, have announced that Enlighten will be available for the PlayStation 4 console. The lighting technology will be used in the upcoming Battlefield 4, which has been confirmed for the PlayStation 4.

Earlier today, Nvidia announced that PhysX gaming physics software will be coming to the PS4 as well. During the PS4 unveiling on February 20th, Sony showcased some engine technology from Square Enix and the upcoming Unreal Engine 4 from Epic Games. Sony also showcased physics technology by Havok, which is the most popular video game physics middle-ware in the world.

Even so, I believe both the Wii U, PS4 and Xbox 720/NeXbox will do well this gen

Well the PS3 is stronger than the 360 already, but I know what you mean. No doubt the 8th generation of gaming will be the best yet. And I know it’s a little premature, but this has me EXTREMELY excited for the 9th generation of gaming.
